Today I’m going to be giving you my InkThemes review, along with a video overview/review of just a few of the themes that I use. I’m going to explain what I like and dislike about InkTheme themes.
I’ve been a paying member of InkThemes since October 2013 and I’m currently paying monthly to keep subscription active to receive one new theme each month, plus access to support if I ever need help customizing the themes.
What Is InkThemes?
InkThemes is a business website that offers premium wordpress themes. It was established back in 2011 and started out with just 3 employes. Today they have a strong team of 22 staff members and you can read all more about them on their about page.
Before getting into the pricing, I wanted to first mention that when I first started building sites I always used free wordpress themes. But I came to realize that the support, quality and security you get with a premium theme is often far greater than any free theme. Not to mention that many free themes never get updated.
- Price Per Theme: $59 to $97 (Developer license included)
- Price for All Themes: $147 (April 2014 – 43 themes total $3.42 per theme).
- Monthly Subscription after 30 days: $15 P/M – One new theme and full forum support.
The Pros vs Cons of InkThemes
- A large selection of themes
- Great customer support
- Easy theme setup and customization
- Mobile friendly and responsive
- Themes designed with local businesses in mind
- Frequent theme updates
- Trial theme available
- Not everyone needs all the themes, so purchasing one theme only isn’t the greatest deal.
- Forum support ends if you cancel subscription. (I think)
- Not really sure what to say, it’s hard to find any cons in using InkThemes
- If I find something to add it will go here. My own personal experience has been very good and it’s hard to find anything negative about InkThemes.
InkThemes – Perfect For Local Business Websites
The main reason I purchased the complete theme package was to use for local clients websites, most if not all themes can be set-up very easily and very quickly for a local business. If you watch my video InkThemes Review I show you how I use these themes on my site LocalWebDesign.ca. In fact, the site LocalWebDesign.ca is currently using the Colorway theme from InkThemes.
Mobile Friendly Responsive Themes
These days it’s extremely important that your website is mobile friendly, either with a responsive theme or perhaps you have a mobile site created separately. The best option in my opinion is a responsive wordpress theme and that’s because your website will respond to whatever size screen in loading the website.
All 43 themes available at InkThemes are mobile friendly and responsive, making it perfect for someone like myself who offers mobile friendly website design to local businesses.
The InkTheme customer support is very good from my experience and I have no reason to believe otherwise. From my understanding when customers have questions or problems, most people post on the forum. After your purchase, you’ll have 30 days to post questions in the forum, after the 30 days you’ll need a subscription to InkThemes to posts more questions.
If you purchase one theme or all themes you will get 6 months of free updates and technical support. This support does not cover customizing etc.
However, if you don’t have a subscription you can still view and access the forum. I’ve gone to the forum several times to ask questions only to find it’s been asked and answered already. One thing I really like about the support staff is when they respond and explain how to edit/customize something, they normally post the code along with a screenshot making it very easy to follow.
Another benefit is that each theme comes with a PDF and video documentation.
My InkThemes Review Final Verdict
Needless to say if you’ve read any of this post you’ll already know that I personally like InkThemes, plus I some of the themes on my local clients websites. However, my reason for using InkThemes may be totally different than yours. If you’re only looking for one theme then maybe spending the extra time to find the best theme is something to consider.
An example is the theme I’m using on this site right now, it’s not from InkThemes it’s a StudioPress theme. I’m using it because I feel it will work best for what I’m currently doing and I was looking for a complete change from my old theme.
I believe InkThemes is perfect for web designers who build websites for local businesses or want a wide selection of quality themes.
