How To Create A Full WordPress Blog Backup
Automatically Send To A Google Drive Account
Creating a wordpress blog backup on a regular basis is very important, unless you could deal with possibly losing all your website content and core files. I’m not trying to be a fear monger but it’s possible that one day you could visit your blog and everything could be gone, maybe due to a hacker or perhaps the hosting company had a server crash and doesn’t have a backup to restore the server.
Early this year Google came out with Google Drive, it’s basically an online storage account that works just like Google Docs but you get 5GB of free online storage per Google/Gmail account that you have. So if you have several self hosted wordpress blogs, you could have it setup to backup each blog every day/week/month and have the backup sent to your online Drive storage account.
The WordPress blog backup plugin that I use in the video below is called “WordPress for Google Drive“, it’s free and you can find it via a plugin search from within the blog admin area, just search: Google Drive.
Backups are ‘zip’ archives created locally and uploaded to a folder of your choosing on Google Drive.
If for some reason you can’t get this plugin to work, you can try BackWpUp plugin and have the backup sent to a free Dropbox account or other online storage accounts. You can see the “How To Backup A WordPress Blog“.
